Most of the properties we hunt hold a large population of turkeys. We continuously bait for spring turkey throughout the entire hunting season. This keeps the birds where we know they will be when it comes time to chase them by the end of the hunting season. Bring the weapon of your choosing to hunt our wild Rio Grande Turkeys. Shotgun, bow, muzzleloader, and rifle are all allowed in our area to harvest a Spring gobbler. We will cater to your style of turkey hunting as well.

Turkey Hunting Trips

On our turkey hunting trip, you will arrive the afternoon before your hunt begins and be welcomed with a fresh, home-cooked meal. That evening take the opportunity to travel with your hunting guide to the roost area to get a jump on a target bird. The next 3 days you will spend in the field, working your turkey hunting skills to lure in that big Spring Gobbler.

Turkey Hunting Tactics

Whether you prefer to Run ‘N Gun, Spot and Stalk, or Sit ‘N Wait…we will point you in the direction for success using these different turkey hunting tactics:

Run N' Gun

Our Run ‘N Gun hunters find thrills with the various encounters they have with all the wildlife that Texas can offer. Armadillos, rattlesnakes, coyotes, racoons, skunks, and wild boars are just a few of the animals these thrill seekers have come across while chasing down that big gobbler calling to them from beyond their sight. While working that bird in from afar, our Run ‘N Gunners have the opportunity to see Texas in the wild and harvest that Rio Grande gobbler they dream of.

Sit N' Wait

If your turkey hunting tactic leans more towards the Sit ‘N Wait style of hunting, then we can cater to you as well. Hunt from our Family Traditions Tree Stands or a Rhino Blind ground blind, as you wait over bait for that big gobbler to come strutting in. This is a low-impact, tree-shaded style of hunt that will give you the opportunity you are seeking to bag that Rio Grande gobbler.

No matter your turkey hunting tactic, we are ready to accommodate your needs while you are hunting with us. Our turkey hunting packages also includes a hot lunch for you every day at the hunting lodge. But if you’re a die-hard turkey hunter and like to stay out until you harvest your game, then we always keep sandwich supplies in the fridge. A hot, Texas-Sized evening meal will be prepared fresh for you when you come in from roosting your next target that night.

Our Spring Turkey Hunting Season is reserved for hunting Spring gobblers and any other “Non-Game Species,” Predators and hogs. Temperatures during this hunting season are getting hot, with highs that can reach into the upper 90s. On cooler days this time of year, we get some of our most beautiful weather of the year. With the turkey gobbling, the wildflowers blooming, and the grass and trees at their greenest, these late season hunts can be extra special.

Spring Turkey and Hog Combo Hunting Package

You'll have the same experience as our Spring Turkey hunting package, but with this combo hunting package you can shoot ALL the wild hogs you want!

Again, we will cater to your style of turkey hunting. You call it and we will put you right where you need to be to bag that Rio Grande gobbler. While turkey hunting, you can choose to take the opportunity to shoot any wild hog upon sight or we can plan a separate hunt, just for hogs. Load your cooler up with all the “white meat” we can offer. This combo hunting package is non-stop action!

With turkey hunting, hunters should stick to what they know to be successful. All turkey hunting tactics can work here. But when it comes to shooting wild hogs, versatility is a must. Hunters booking this hunting package, which have been with us for a while, like to load the 2nd and 3rd shell in their shotguns with buck shot or even slugs, just in case they happen to see a big boar while waiting for their gobbler to show. Many will bring their brush guns for harvesting hogs after their turkey is tagged. Or let your hunting guide take you to one of the many hunting blinds where the hogs will show up to feed late in the day.
